Hi Kerwin It's strange that when user change the volume of the TV ( not STB ) , the sound is output from the STB. This issue is being reported in the field. Is there any additional information that can be debugged in the part related to this issue or discussed further with Amlogic? Thank you YK.Jung |

Hi Mr. YK Jung, The only possible reason I know is CEC. I also see CEC is enabled in "NO_Audio_0526.zip". This test was at ALT's office. I think you can disable CEC both on TV and STB and try if issue exists. Thanks ! .... 05-26 15:57:31.253 3557 3557 I SocControl.018: [setCEC] called onOff(1) 05-26 15:57:31.253 3557 3557 D Display : ++DISPLAY_CEC_SetEnable :cec_enable(1), gautopoweroff(1) 05-26 15:57:31.253 3557 3557 D hal_display: hal_display:HAL_DISPLAY_CEC_SetEnable .... |

Hi Kerwin Chen, I set both TV and STB to disable CEC in my office. And test again. There is no change. I attached log. Thanks |

Hi Mr. SY Yoon, Could you let me know the time of no audio issue happening ? And the time to change TV volume ? Thanks ! |

Hi Kerwin, I didn't check what you want. So I tested again. I input hdmitest.sh test command around 17:06:15. I attached hdmitest.sh file. And I change the TV Volume set around 17:06:33. If you need more information, please let me know. hdmitest.sh (2,390 bytes)

Hi Mr. SY Yoon, I have another question about the test. Do "No Audio" issue happen after you run AML's script ? |
Hi Mr. Kerwin Chen, Yes. you're right. Our test sequence is 1. STB Turn on - There is no issue. Audio is OK 2. AML Script run - No audio. 3. TV Volume change with TV RCU - Audio is OK. |
Hi Mr. SY Yoon, From the log, I only find 1 unusual message about HDMI. "mSignalHpd" is updated to '0' while script set HDMI resolution. But this parameter is not updated to '1' even after you change TV volume to make audio coming back. There is no special audio message while you adjust TV volume. And the log is quite different with "NO_Audio_0526.zip" which is tested on Android 10 So I can't make sure if it is root cause or not. I don't know the purpose to run the script because sysfs commands are issued to kernel driver directly. Some services in Android Framework may not be awared of the state changes. In the 'hdmitest.sh', it sets disable HDMI PHY in hdmi_set_outputmode(). But the script doesn't enable HDMI PHY again. I suggest to have AML debug on this issue since script is provided by them. Thanks ! |
Hi Kerwin Chen, This test script is the script that makes color depth to 10 bit. It was our default from 15.522.x. So I would like to apply this setting to STB that has 15.513.x and 15.520.8 version. In case of ANAM TV that I tested, we can reproduce this issue. The sequence is 1. STB Power on, 2. No Audio 3. Change TV Volume, then we can hear the audio from TV We cannot hear TV sound when we change STB volume. But we cannot reproduced right now. We don't know why its status is changed. But we can reproduce after AML test script now. If you make some addition change on the script, then please let us know. If I input parameter change to 444 to 420, 8bit to 10bit, then there is no issue. And this issue didn't happen in other TV that we have. |
